Established in 1972, we are a small kennel, producing a litter occasionally when we want a new puppy for ourselves.
Our beagles live with us in the home, so good temperament as well as soundness and good looks are very important to us.
We are members of:
The Beagle Association – www.beagleassociation.org.uk
The Beagle Club – www.and Northern and Midland Counties Beagle Club and are actively involved in supporting our breed rescue – Beagle Welfare. For more information about these, and Beagle Health, please go to our Links Page.
We are proud to be members of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme and all our beagles are tested as required by this scheme.
Our first brood bitch was Rossut Primrose of Butterow. Her children included:
Butterow Willow (1974-92)
A regular winner of veteran classes, who lived to be over 18 years old.
Ch. Butterow Crafty Chantress of Jesson (1979-94)
Best of Breed Crufts 1983 (owned and exhibited by the late Mrs Honor Eades before 'retiring' to live with us in 1985).
Butterow Bryher of Jesson (1978-89)
Best Puppy in Show at Beagle Association Ch. Show 1979(exhibited by the late Mrs Honour Eades).
Kernebridge Jasmine of Butterow (1994 - 2007)
After a time out of active showing and breeding, we bought Kernebridge Jasmine of Butterow from Penny Carmichael. She was awarded best Brood by the Bitch, Northern & Midland Beagle Club in 1999.
Butterow Iota of Kernebridge (19??-??)
Jasmine’s daughter - Butterow Iota of Kernebridge won 1st Post Graduate Bitch at Crufts in 2000.
Iota’s daughters Kernebridge Kittiwake of Butterow and Kernebridge Liberty of Butterow both gained their KC Stud Book numbers and had some nice wins during their show careers.
We continue to enjoy living with and showing our beagles and having the occasional litter. .
Our current dogs are Butterow Rumba and Butterow Rumba.
